Hi all, Ive known this girl [whos details i wont give] for a long time and shes really self concious about her image. Unfortunatly she had a stroke when she was younger and has to use a wheelchair most of the time. Would this stop you dating her? What do you all think of her?

My new found insomnia means that i am just trying to spread a bit of happiness in the night - Tell her, as noone else will get to see her thanks to the mods, she's got nothing to worry about. All women think they are unattractive and the ones that don't are lying - but she is -really -very!!

She's gorgeous! :bigsmile: If I had her face and smile, I'd be a very happy girl indeed :bigsmile: However, if someone believes they are unattractive no amount of telling them otherwise will make them see that they are lovely, she needs to learn to believe it for herself. Aren't all these people saying they'd go out with her after just seeing a picture just as shallow as people who wouldn't go out with her because she is in a wheelchair?

Someone being in a wheelchair wouldn't put me off them at all, but I couldn't say I would go out with her after seeing a picture. She could be an awful person, or really boring... or be an evil genius with plans for world domination.

Yes, a certain amount of self confidence (but not arrogance) is attractive.
Its quite off putting either chatting up or going out with a girl who is forever putting herself down - eventually you start to believe them.

A friend has clearly posted a picture of this girl to get positive feedback which in turn will maybe increase her confidence. The fact that so many people have posted saying how nice she looks (me included) is a good thing.

Perhaps if you want no opinions but positive ones you should add no negative opinions to reply.
Regarding would anybody be put off about dating someone in a wheel chair then unfortunately there are people out there who would be but again thats an opinion you risk putting this kind of thread on here.

Thats a good point. But i do know this girl, as i have for over a year. Her name is Kirsty Locke, and she doesnt even live in sheffield, or england for that matter. So theres no need for her to worry about you lot noticing her, or any pervs stalking her etc etc. If you still dont believe i know her, contact me and ill ask her if she's willing to share her email and talk to you on msn.
As for all the comments, she checked out this thread earlier and she is very happy and has really increased in confidence since reading the comments made by you all. and thanks you all very much. As for the people that suggested she might just 'look' good and have a **** personality, she excels in the personality department aswell. She is a really nice person. And finally, as for the image, i edited a screenshot of her on webcam (another sign of proof that i know her) and i can post pictures from her makeover photoshoot on request. (yes i have her permission).

Im not going off like shes a supermodel, im just trying to prove that i know her so any people who have a problem with me posting her image can be reassured. And as for your last comment, she goes on webcam for very few people (or she DID until she got all these great comments (well ... mostly), and i dated her for a few months and got really close with her since then.

I've got to admit I think this post has gone on for far too long now. The girl is not bad looking but for a friend to come on here and publicly humiliate her by asking people whether they'd date her is a tad over the top.

The fact that she's in a wheelchair does make a difference because no matter what people post on this forum, however nice - they know deep down they wont be taking her out so instead try to make her feel better by saying nice things.

yes i am in a wheelchair but i only have to use wen im outside because my legs r 2 weak to hold any amount of weight for a long period of time.
