Anyone interested in getting into the film and tv industries may want to check out www.syfn.org.uk - The South Yorkshire Filmmakers Network is a relatively new organisation promoting and strengthening the regional industry and providing networking and learning opportunities for those who are either already working in the industry, training or at film school, or simply interested in getting into the industry.
South Yorkshire has an unusually rich heritage in terms of the moving image industries and right now, there are a lot of exciting young companies and individuals making waves nationally and internationally from a South Yorkshire base.
If you'd like to be added to the mailing list, please email rob@syfn.org.uk with your details. There's a cool weekly bulletin letting you know about film-related events and opportunities in and around the region including SYFN events which include screenings, networking evenings, guest speaker events and more.
There's also a discussion forum on the website - www,syfn.org.uk/forum - anyone can sign up.
Cheers folks,
Eddie
