Dont suppose anyone on here was a regular at the Rising Sun in 1982 when they used to have the Alan price mobile disco on Tuesday nights? Used to be my fave local and run by an ex Sheffield football player, forget his name but he had permed hair!!

Oh what was his name........

Landlord in question was Graham Pugh (Pughy),he left to run the Freemasons at Hillsbrough in 1987 but left about 3 years ago to run a W.M.C in Woodhall Spa.He was a permanent fixture in Menzels on Friday nites till he moved away.I was a regular in The Sun almost every nite from 81 till a couple of years ago and remember the Tuesday nite discos-where no one ever danced.

Ah yes, the DJ in the shiny red suit playing all the disco hits like Shalamar, Shakatak, Imagination, etc, and yes, no one ever danced, but a few girls were seen to sway their heads and sing along to Ive never been to me by Charlene.

Ah good times........if you remember a guy with long blond hair and an afghan dog on a rope, that was me. They used to let dogs in then as long they were well behaved and did not chew the bar staff. The punters were free to do that, but not their pets!

And 1987 reminds me: That was the last time you bought me a pint. (I've still got it, it's on a shelf in the garage for prosperity but has turned black and is now solid.)
