A while back on here there was a thread about Home Bargains in Hillsborough.....I didn't want to resurrect the particular thread as it didn't speak well of the manager, Richard.....and following an incident I would like to redress the balance by thanking Richard.
I left my debit card in one of the machines at the till and went home without it....I've done this before (senior moment!)....went back in the following day to retrieve it.....Richard was very kind and polite....he had put it in his own pocket for safe keeping and without thinking it went home with him and when he realised he put it in his own safe where he keeps his own cards etc......but forgot to bring it back in on Saturday.....but said it would be perfectly safe....he was prepared to bring it in to Hillsborough the following day but I said Monday would be fine....so I have been in today....found Richard and he has returned my card.....so THANK YOU for keeping it safe for me.
Home Bargains is one of my two favourite shops (T J Hughes being the other).....it is good to know that the staff and polite and friendly. It makes for happy shopping. :D

Recalling that other thread I'd say you were a master of understatement :hihi:
Nice to hear he has some saving grace.
I'd check your next bank statement just to ensure there hasn't been any transactions made whilst others had it in their safe keeping.

not sure what the first bit of this is about but i actually left my card in the machine there too! got it back safely thank goodness!

It's been, it's done....why rake up something that is dead and buried....I just wanted to let people know that Richard wasn't the ogre that he was painted to be.....he is OK....it must have been quite hurtful for him to read the thread - I know he was aware of what was said - just wanted to say that for every brickbat there is a bouquet in this world...just wanted to say thanks...:D
And for the cynic who has said check my bank statement.....the card was in Richard's possession from the time I left it until the time I received it back. Why would he risk his job and reputation by using a card that is known only he had. I am fully satisfied that he is true to his word when he said he kept it in a safe place.

Doesn't matter about the first bit....which is why I didn't add to an already existing thread.....
They are lovely staff in there, helpful and cheerful....:D
