Looked like Police had pulled a car over by Waitrose garage. Didn't look like your average motoring misdemeanor judging by the armed police standing on guard.
This was about 10.30 - 11pm on Sat night.
Any idea what was going on?

On the Star news headlines, it said there was a police crackdown on crime in the area, targetting guns and drugs. This was taking place in the Sharrow and S11 areas.

I guess it may be linked to this. This may be linked to the armed raid on the Lescar pub and I think, the Nursery Tavern (although I am not altogether sure about the Nursery).

Quite a visible presence taking place,which is needed given the levels of crime across the country and the media hype.

i had no idea this was going on! but was out on saturday night, we always seem to have police cars going past up here.

The officers were involved in a high profile stop and search operation. Just making sure that people know they are there. The machine guns certainly made them stand out.

Plenty of armed bobbies cruising about round here lately.
