Well ok, coke proof...

Last night before a lot of me pulling my hair out and nail biting, my partner accidentally knocked a full glass of coke on my laptop and it all went between the keys, it amzingly stayed on  and no sparks or flashes of bright lights on the screen...the only problem was the keys became a little dyslexic (U = return, up cursor went left, so did left and also right) and were very sticky, I turned it straight off and she got the hair dryer to it, removed the battery and left it over night fearing the worst...

Got up this morn' and it worked, the keys were almost back to their old selves but still very, very sticky...we have just pulled them off 1 @ a time and cleaned with daughters baby wipes (Plug goes out to johnson & johnson :hihi:) and they are now back on and as you can see WORK

If in any doubt about what laptop to buy, I would definately recommend FSC Amilo...it's like the NOKIA version of laptops.

Thanks for listening...:hihi:

Was it regular or diet coke?

Regular has the sugar content, which may account for the extra stickiness of the keys this morning.

Stick to plain old water next time

Hmmmmmmmm, somehow I don't think water would make it any better, it's more than likey thanks to the sugar that I've not had to chuck it in't bin. Water being a lot less dense would no doubt have done a damn site more damage.

thanks

I've had fun experiences with spilt water and laptops in the past and if you're quick enough to pull the plug and remove the battery before the water touches 'owt electrical, you're OK.

Just let the laptop dry out in a warm room for a couple of days, and get someone a subordinate to power it on again

And [b]no[/i] sticky keys either
