View Full Version : Help with finding screenwash nozzle...
beansfeast 19-01-2005, 12:34 Hi all!
Someone I know has got a new Nissan Micra as a temporary hire car, but can't find where to fill up the windscreen washer fluid. The car came empty and doesn't have the instruction book! :loopy:
Any ideas?
Look under the bonnet. Then try to see if there is a bottle that's empty, it could be a dead give away. ;)
beansfeast 19-01-2005, 15:45 Ha ha, you're hilarious... NOT! :gag:
Either everyone is ignoring me or there's a lot of Micra's driving round Sheffield with very dirty windows... :hihi:
steevie/d 19-01-2005, 15:52 hi there m8 have you not telephoned the dealer up that would be my first call insted of on here you will only get silly remarks here :D
Stick 'nissan micra washer' into google and see what you get!
Perhaps it's not worth bothering to find it. According to most of the results, they have a habit of being faulty anyway.
beansfeast 19-01-2005, 16:42 Thanks, I've tried searching every phrase under the sun to do with this in Google! Never mind, bloke has left now and getting his car back tomorrow so I'm not too bothered...
Reckon if I'd seen the car I could have found it in 30secs anyway lol :hihi:

What exactly was wrong with owdlads post? When I was a mechanic that is exactly what I would do. :)
It'll probably be under the bonnet, up near the windscreen in most cases. They often have a blue cap on, and a little picture of windscreen wipers and water spraying on. This is not always the case though so, as owd says, look for an empty plastic tank.
it's not obvious, is it (http://us1.webpublications.com.au/static/images/articles/i0/0080_04mg.jpg)
Mouseman 20-01-2005, 09:27 Could it be in the boot? I have had a number of cars that have a washer bottle in the boot instead of/as well as in the engine bay.

Eh? Is this sarcasm, coz I can't see it in the photo! :help:
And the boot has been checked thoroughly.
Anyway, like I said... don't need to worry about it anymore...

Not to me..where is it ? :) We just had the same problem with a Renault Cleo on loan. The bonnet release was a little unmarked lever on the passenger side under the dash. The black washer filler cap I eventually found embedded in the windscreen drainage channel covered with leaves. In every car we've had the washer filler bottle has been white polythene somewhere at the front of the engine compartment. Most have been Nissans so I'm surprised the current Micra is so different.

Alright, alright keep your hair on! :help: I was writing from the perspective that I have a brain and know generally that the screenwash bottle is under the bonnet and normally on one of the sides. I took you 1st comment:
'see if there is a bottle that's empty, it could be a dead give away'
as being sacasm. I apologise if I took it the wrong way!
All I wanted was someone who actually KNOWS where the bloody thing is, to tell me!
Thanks for all your help anyway  I now no longer need to know...
No worries ;) eeerrr where was it ? Just in case someone else wants to know ;)
alchresearch 20-01-2005, 20:38 If only i'd seen this thread at 1.35pm on the 19th we could have avoided all this wasted bandwidth and sarcasm. <sigh>.
If you look at the picture, that was kindly linked, locate the car alarm at the top right of the picture. Follow the line of the wing towards the headlight and the washer filler is there. It's just a small pipe as the main washer tank is hidden in the bulkhead.
