 One of my printer colours will not print. The 5th ink along (light magenta) does not print. I have even changed it to a new ink and it registers that there is plenty of ink, but yet it will not print on the nozzle check and pictures have colour missing. Any ideas what is wrong?

probably the nozzle is blocked try a cleaning cycle and see if that helps.

Hi, I tried cleaning and the obvious things. It's an Epsom Stylus Photo R200.
Any other tips to try as I'm stumped, next job is take it to the shop, but we haven't used it all that much since we bought it.
Don't think it will still be in guarantee though.

Unfortunately if you don't use it then ink can dry and become stuck in the head. Which then can be very difficult to shift.

Try more cleaning cycles.

Especially with Epsoms :o

I've still got my HP Deskjet 720c from 1999 which I only use occasionally. Never had any problems with the ink drying or clogged nozzles whatsoever :)

that's your problem... Epsons are terrible when it comes to ink drying in the nozzle when they aren't used for a long time. if it doesn't start working after a few head cleaning cycles you can take it to somewhere like cartridge world and they will put a chemical cleaner through it to get rid of any dried ink.

My daughter's Epson R300 had the same problem on 2 of the nozzles.
I bought a couple of cleaning cartridges which were specific for the colours which were blocked and that cured the problem.
To prevent further blockages it's a good idea to run a nozzle check every so often if you only use the printer occassionally
