Just wondering if anyone else on here has tried using a 'light box' to combat Seasonal Affective Disorder or an eating disorder (they are used to treat bulimia)? My dear old mum (bless her!) brought me one a few weeks ago after reading an article in a magazine and I have to say it seems to be pretty good. I use it for about an hour in the morning and I certainly feel better than I have done in a while, although it is difficult to pinpoint whether this is due entirely to the light box or other factors. I'm curious as to whether anyone else has a similar story?

Hi Tracey,
I have S.A.D. but haven't used a light box; however, I have used St. John's Wort every winter for about the last five years, and have found it helps me tremendously.
It's quite widely available now, and has come down in price loads over the last coupe of years.
If you decide to give it a go, you'll need to take it for about three weeks before you notice any effect.
Good Luck,
K x

I found moving to Australia for six months of the year does the trick - it has really helped me. Just ask your parents for the fare and a stipend to see you right and bobs your auntie no messing around with costly boxes:o :o

to be honest -when you have light in your life you are happier. When it goes out - you're just left with darkness - light takes many forms - value the light you have got as it showers you with its rays - it might not last forever..........
