Does anybody know the best way to go about getting a trademark for a business name? I have done a Google search but it just comes up with solicitors who charge a small fortune.

Is it possible to do it without solicitors, it's for a friend who asked me to help but I have no idea about it.

More info here (http://www.aslins.com/registering-trademarks.htm) which is UK based.

Contact National Business Register Plc. They will send you a large information pack with details on Starting a New Business, Forming a Company, Trade Marks, Domain names, Partnerships, Consumer credit etc.

I found it invaluable whilst setting up my business.

Best bet is to contact a Trade mark attorney, but for good info you can check on the Patent Office website

www.patent.gov.uk

should get some ideas there, mate.
