Videos from the US don't work in the UK, well you can't show them on a VCR over there, and visa versa, unless things have changed in the last few years, anything new out ?

Rich 18-01-2005, 17:50 Um, most SCART compatible tellies show NTSC (American) videos perfectly. Strix 18-01-2005, 17:57 It's something to do with the frame rate (or something). There are switchable machines. Panasonic was always the brand we reccommended at John Lewis, but that was a good few years ago now. I wish I could remember the technical terms for it now. Was it PAL/(something)? DaBouncer 18-01-2005, 18:05 Most VCR's have NTSC playback facility to play US VHS Tapes. Whether the TV has in another matter. I have an old converter which converts NTCS signal to PAL and PAL to NTSC if you want it for £10. Work perfectly and removes copy protection (a side effect ;) ) from the source material too. However with Multi Region DVD players out now it's pretty much redundant. poppins 18-01-2005, 18:46 Originally posted by DaBouncer Most VCR's have NTSC playback facility to play US VHS Tapes. Thank you, much appreciated but I don't think it will do me any good, i can get something like that in the States but i've heard there realy difficult to use, it's a good price you have there anyhow, thanks again. POPPINS DaBouncer 18-01-2005, 19:03 Easy to use. Comes with leads. Just plug into player and TV and bob's your uncle - picture conversion. The converter recognises the signal on it's own and converts automatically to the opposite (unless you override it manuall). Just gathering dust in my cabinet at the moment. poppins 19-01-2005, 14:08 Originally posted by DaBouncer Easy to use. Comes with leads.
