View Full Version : Who is a dedicated follower of fashion?
After reading a thread on here about clubbing gear .......... me thinks do people actually buy special gear to go clubbing, so that they can all look alike as if they are wearing some sort of uniform.
Thanks but no thanks.
I never have had that must get the latest fashion clothing to wear feeling. I wear what I like and not what some billion pound industry tells me that I should wear.
Why do people have to follow oneanother like sheep rather than having the confidence to do their own thing?

Unless you make your own clothes then I'm afraid you do wear what your told, like the rest of us, we can only buy whats in the shops, and that is what is "fashionable" at the moment.
A few years ago when i used to attend gatecrasher weekly i wore cyber, although that wasn't really wearing a uniform as each outfit that we wore was specially made or modified to my own taste, but the whole cyber thing was about making yourself look as individual as possible.
Nowdays i just wear what im comftable in and enjoy wearing!!!
NatalieSheff 18-01-2005, 11:01 remember that freaky shop round corner from uropa and berlins that sold "clubbin gear". bright yellow and pink clothes with fluffy boots.....nice! and that was just the mens gear
:gag:

Very true. Even those people who think that they dress in a unique way are probably wearing the exact same items of clothing as hundreds of other people.
There is nothing wrong with following fashion, it's a hobby like any other, I suppose.

You're wrong.
I have stuff in my wardrobe from before I had kids 10 years ago. I refuse to throw them out because I like them and theres loads of wear them. Thats the beauty of never being at the height of fashion, your clothes never go out of fashion  ;)

But they must have been fashionable when you bought them, and as most fashions go round and round, they will be back in fashion again one day.
p.s. Retro, or older looking/styled clothes are fashionable at the moment, so you are quite the trend setter.
NatalieSheff 18-01-2005, 11:51 sick of my mother saying - i used to have one of those....wish id kept them! :gag: ive got clothes in wardrobe ive not even worn yet. LOVE clothes, but never follow direct "topshop" fashion. i have my own style and think we all should. instead of going thru sheep faze - you scary shellsuits wearers, trainers with the tongues out, and now ponchos?????yuk, no thanks
