View Full Version : Wasps nest ... when will it die off?

Under the tiles in our bay window we have a wasps nest. The builders who did our guttering treated it in June. It remained. We bought two different cans of the foam treatment to kill wasps nests (one was Rentokil) and sprayed it all over the entrance and surrounding areas four times at varying intervals. The wasps continued.

We learned that they only use a nest for one season and have decided to leave it (not that the treatments worked anyway). When can we expect them to die out?

What if they start their new nest nearby?

We have one or two drunk looking wasps in the house which have just flopped and died on the windowsill this week, but the nest still remains active.

I guess really you are waiting for a good frost to hit... once that comes and the real cold weather arrives only then will the Queens be left to survive - whether that is deep inside the nest or in a nook n cranny somewhere around I've no idea.

Can you see all of the nest or is it embedded in something?
