Some years ago I was shown a veriograph picture painted by Rossetti.
The owner told me that Rossetti and Elizabeth Siddall lived for a time in Walkley.
Has anyone seen any info or has knowledge of other members of the brotherhood visiting sheffield or the address where Rossetti stayed?

I've been studying the history of Walkley and have never heard about this. There is a Ruskin connection with the area. He set up a museum on Bole Hill Rd. His friend/corresponant Henry Swan, who had previously lived on Bell Hagg rd. became the museum curator. Perhaps Rossetti and Elizabeth Siddal visited BoleHill Rd. Maybe the Guild of St. George would know more.

Can I suggest one possible source for confusion?
There is a reference book by G. Walkley; Artists' Houses in London 1764-1914 published in 1994.
"You can find out where Rossetti lived in 'Walkley'"
lol...
Thiat made me think of singing hymns in school.... There was one that I can't remember the title of but had the line,
"Gladly, the cross I'd bear."
Naturally, I spent years thinking that a bear called Gladly was in need of some glasses...
No, I wasn't a very bright child.

Elizabeth Siddall was a sheffield cutlers daughter, and moved to London. Not sure if Rossetti visited Sheffield, but Millais was more likely to have.
