We got some japanese onions from Wilkos last week. They don't have much info on them so we have just planted them and we'll see what happens.

Only just still getting going so we'll plant anything.

The allotment shop at Heeley and Meersbrook allotments has some in. At the end of Meersbrook road (have to pay £3.50 for yearly membership but get massively reduced prices).

You don't have to be an allotment holder

I bought 500g of Senshyu onion sets for only £1 from the allotment shop on Hagg Lane a couple of weeks ago. Don't know if there are any left though.

I have a roofless greenhouse, don`t ask why,do you think this type of onion would go well in there? Or are they better outside.

I would have thought there would be little difference, with perhaps the "roofless ones" maturing slightly earlier. Why not try some in each location and report back to us in June next year?

Bit early still for garlic, give it a few weeks yet.
