Yeah im just wanting to know which is better between the following cards.

XFX Nnvidia Geforce FX 5700LE 256mb

or

XFX Nvidia Geforce XT 5900 128mb

I currently have the 5700 but my mate is selling the other one and i want to know if its worth buying off him for approx £100?

Not really im afraid. Theres nowhere to compare graphics cards. Maybe someone here on the forum would just 'know' which gfx card is better. :D

The 5900 has a faster chipset than the 5700. Theres really no need for 256mb of ram on a graphics card. Id personally buy a 5900xt, rather than a plain 5900. They can be quite easily modified with a simple bios flash to turn them into a 5950ultra. You can buy a gainward 5900xt online brand new for about £130

That link I posted is to a direct comparison of about 30 cards! It could not have been any better!!!

Thats now a link directly to a comparison of cards when playing Doom 3.
Try scroling up and down the page and looking at it! ;)

5900 xt
but id save up and buy a 6600 gt on a pciexpress motherboard. Hes selling because such cards have been overtaken.

don't bother upgrading to that card mate... its not a worthwhile investment... as I mentioned to you before get an 6600 GT or a 6800 pro :) they're the only worthwhile investments for a non A64 system

just to note the 5900 XT 128mb is better than your card... 256mb VRAM is only needed on the new cards, as the older cards like ATI 9800 and Nvidia 5700 etc cant make good use of the extra RAM... but the newer cards like the 6600 and 6800 and ATI X800 can make great use of that extra 128mb of RAM ;)

If you don't play in resolutions over 1280 x 768 buy the GeForce BFG. It's cheap as chips from the US and runs just as well as all the others in resolutions under 1280.

I bought a new LCD TFT monitor the other week and im running at 1280x1024 now ..

Anyways i wont have either of these cards soon, im sticking with my GeforceFX 5700 for a while and saving for the new XFX Geforce 6800 Ultra 256mb. Its the ULTIMATE BEAST.
