Me and my friend have both split up with our long term boyfriends this week and have moved in with eachother. We have both lost our very much loved cats in the splits so are looking to get a kitten in the next few weeks.

Does anybody have any kittens that are either ready now or will be ready soon? Would prefer a girl and preferably not a tabby - grey ideally but will consider all colours - personality more important.

The lucky kitten will be showered with love and live in a lovely house with a safe secure garden. We work different hours so the kitten would always have company.

I'm afraid that unless something falls through with the homes already set up for the kittens that I have at the moment they are all spoken for already, and I don't know when my next lot will arrive or how old they will be (and so how long before they're ready to go home).

I know that the Shelter has lots which will be coming up for homes in the next couple of months though- why don't you give them a call?

Sheffield C.A.T.S have a 9 months old cat (still a baby herself) who was left to venture outside unspayed, she got pregnant and her owners left her. She had her litter about 3 months ago. Her and her kittens were taken in by the cat sanctuary and when she was healthy enough she was spayed.
Now her kittens have all gone to new homes and she has been left :( She is still only a baby herself and needs a loving, caring forever home where she can get the love and attention she most desperately needs.

If it is Lady I've just been looking at her on the website...Sadly she is the spitting image of Tabby so I don't think she'll be the best cat for me to have...but have rung about a few of the others on the site so thank you...

Congratulations on your 2 new kittens.

When you left they were given some more food. Then me and jackie gave them some gentle cuddles to try and get them used to human contact (jackie will continue to keep handling them because they are 5 weeks old and have never seen a human until today).

By the time they are ready to be collected they should be used to being picked up and be abit stronger.

I am going up again on friday and i will give yours a cuddle again. I will also take another picture for you if you want and let you know how they are getting on.

Im sure the little grey ones eyes will have cleared up in a few days now she has her eye ointment.

What did you call them again? Saskia & ......................?

When I left they had fully tummies and were settled alltogether in their warm bed. Its their first night sleeping somewhere safe instead of under a bush with the cold weather and rain and all the noise. I bet they are sleeping soundly as I type this! :)

Hoping to go see them again at the weekend...my best friend from birmingham is coming to see me and as she will be godmother i think it is important they become aquainted...!!

I was given him to look after for a while until I found a good home for him. I cannot keep him as I suffer from asthma so he makes me ill. I can give you his bed, toys, scratch post etc and have loads of food left. If you want any pics of him I have some on my phone which I would be able to send to you. Thanks

Hi absythfairy, i spoke to jackie a moment ago and she said the kitens after much persistance had eaten a tiny bit of kitten food. So thats good news, means they are starting to wean. She said the little grey ones eyes looked alot better too xxxxxxx

Hi, I dont know. She said 10 weeks is when she normally lets them go however if they are fully ready before then and she is happy they are healthy enough then she will let them go sooner. So I would say anything after 8 weeks. Keep in touch with her and keep checking on them, thats what I will do. Charlie was laid with Saskia earlier bless them and Porsha was laid with the other one (i dont know its name) :love:

Sweet- so pleased for you absynthefairy! My little week n a bit olds haven't opened their eyes yet - keep telling them they'd better do soon cos there's a world of madness out there they need to be getting a good look at...

One of them like's laying on it's back and kicking it's little legs in the air like an upturned beetle!

I wonder what ours will make of the cockatiel that's sharing hte bathroom with them, when they start walking about, not to mention the tank of fish...
