View Full Version : Blood on Division and West street
metalman 17-01-2005, 08:50 When I walked up Division St. this morning, on the left hand side of the road as you go from town, there was a sizeable pool of blood on the pavement towards the bottom end of the road, and then a trail of blood drops leading to a second pool outside the Party On shop about half way up, where the trail stopped. Judging from the distance between the drops compared to my walking stride, it looks as though the person was running and bleeding at the same time.
Anybody know what happened and whether the person concerned is OK?
Who are you, Gill Grissom ?
gladdenj 17-01-2005, 09:04 Saw a similar trail of blood opposite Varsity on West Street this morning when I got off the bus.
It might be chilli sauce, that has a nasty tendancy to fall out of the bottom of your kebab leaving a trail behind you.

Taste it and find out then!!!
aahh good old chilli sauce :D
My doctor tells me that I have too little blood in mine...
You see blood in town a lot, it's probably the remains of some bar brawl on a saturday night. Or some childs nose bleed?!
Carborundum 17-01-2005, 15:06 I also saw some blood in town - outside the crucible end of chapel walk - near the (methodist?) church - if this was the same person sounds like they were staggering back to the bus station - was it a stab wound - do hope not - or just a nose bleed ?
What a mess anyway ...
Plain Talker 17-01-2005, 23:46 outside the tesco on west street, it was all cordoned off, with quite a large amount of blood, in three or four seperate pools.
there were police on guard, and all that police tape as a barrier.
That was about ten past nine this morning (Monday), as I arrived at work.
scary!

Any news of what all these blood spots/pools were? or why Tesco's was cordoned off?
Sounds rather dodgy/scary! :?
A_Partridge 18-01-2005, 11:36 Ive heard a man was stabbed outside kingdom and staggered up to tesco on west street, where he died. non of this is confirmed, just heard from a friend. Would have thought it would be on the news though.

Well I walked past Tescos at 9.45 on Monday morning and there was no sign of anything unusual then.
I thought you might appreciate knowing the police's side of things: Basically the scenes were secured in order to establish the cause of the blood. It is now thought that the blood resulted from a medical emergency and not anything suspicious.
metalman 18-01-2005, 18:38 Well let's just hope whoever it was is OK because they must have lost a fair bit if the same person was involved in both these places.

This is a bit late but i saw all the blood but no cordon or police, this was around 7.30 am.(monday)....could the incident have happened that morning?
Plain Talker 18-01-2005, 20:22 Twiglet, you woild probably have walked past me, at that time, because I went into the tesco at about that time, and the police were just taking the tape down, after being on guard for at least an hour, (well I arrived at work at 9am, and they were there then...)
I am really glad to know that there wasn't any "more" to this story, than that it was a simple medical emergency.
we always tend to think worst-case scenario, don't we when we come across something like this..
Thank you Geoff, for letting us know!

I was probably walking around in my own little world as usual!
