Pork Pies could well be the greatest thing ever invented
but what do you look for in a prime pork pie?

Id have to say firm meat- not soft, a nice decent sized amount of jelly. A very firm base, slightly greasy, then crumbly sides but not moist. The Mobray variety have served me the best so far, but the hunt continues!

I like the pork to be really pink and not grey. I also think the pastry should be thin and crispy.

I like the pork and pickle ones in a brown capped tube from Tesco - mini ones, or Melton Mowbray mini pork pies (pickle)

Morrisons do a Vale of Mowbray pie and for 49p its really nice. But I like most pork pies, sliced in half with a bit of sald cream to dip it into :)
