Hi my name is Rob. I now live in Canada but was born in the infamous town of Maltby about 12 miles from Sheffield. Maltby was a rough place so I always used to go out in Sheffield. I guess the main years of my nightlife in Sheffield were around 1969-1976.
Me and my mate Phil used to frequent the Buccaneer mainly. I do remember a pub in Fitzallan square called the Gay Paree which was down a flight of stairs. Also a coffee club called Down Broadway, which used to be owned by Pete Stringfellow before he had the Penthouse. Later, just before I emigrated to Canada we used to go to a Pub almost at the bottom of the Moor on the left hand side on a side street which used to be a real popular place, does anybody remember it's name. The Nightclubs we used to go too were Baileys (where i was the DJ for a short time around 1976-77.) Josephines, (Pat Sweetwater was the DJ there) The Penthouse where Pete Stringfellow used to DJ, then Dick West took over. The Penny Farthing, Genevieves, and of course The Top rank. I would love to hear from anyone who used to hang out at any of those places and maybe remembers me. I had long hair most of the time and Phil my buddy used to walk with a limp. Would love to hear anybodys memories of those places around those years.
I was back in Maltby last year and some of the same people were still sat in the same chairs I remember them sitting in 25 years ago.
I look forward to hearing from anybody who remembers me.

Regards
