View Full Version : Chinese grand prix fetch92 05-10-2007, 18:40 The chinese grand prix this weekend ! com'on lewis ! 2 races left he can do it!:D:thumbsup: NPB! 05-10-2007, 18:46 Not if he gets docked points for what happened in Japan. Not that i think he will as i think its just sour grapes from Webber fetch92 05-10-2007, 18:52 does anyone know what time itis on in the morning?? Tarquin 05-10-2007, 18:55 Thankfully no points deducted. NPB! 05-10-2007, 18:55 does anyone know what time itis on in the morning?? Not sure, but wouldn't it be a similar time to the Japanese? fetch92 05-10-2007, 18:56 just found out its on at 630 Heyesey 05-10-2007, 19:10 just found out its on at 630 Race starts at 7am, so programme starting at 6.30 sounds about right. fetch92 06-10-2007, 07:47 lewis got pole lets see what elce he can do teammate alonso in 4th sccsux 06-10-2007, 07:50 Qualifyng was "interesting". Could be a good race tomorrow (Hamilton, Raikkonen, Massa, Alonso). An outstanding final run by Hamilton. Quite a mixed grid for the race tomorrow:thumbsup: haddockman 06-10-2007, 16:35 Couldn't face two early mornings in one weekend with the cold I have so taped qualifying and watching it now. Hamilton is brilliant, after all the pressure of this season off the track (cheating allegations, then the Japanese thing too), to win races like Japan, then stick it on pole. I'm sure he's going to win the championship tomorrow! Ivor&Mel 06-10-2007, 21:16 Alonso looked totally resigned to losing his title in the interviews. I'm far from a fan of his, and never have been, but he's also had to endure loads of pressure this season. Moving from Renault to McLaren must have seemed like a dream to him at the time - pity no-one told him the dream would be a nightmare... I have nothing but admiration for what Hamilton has achieved this year, and even if (God forbid) he gets 2 DNFs now, it's been an exceptional start to a career. As Bernie Ecclestone said yesterday: "Lewis Hamilton has been a real breath of fresh air and has resurrected formula one," said Ecclestone, the formula one commercial rights holder. "I have been in motor racing longer than I care to remember but I have never seen anyone like him. He has been nothing short of a miracle worker. We lost a big hero in Michael Schumacher but in Lewis we have another. But for him I'm not sure where the sport would be heading. It is painfully obvious to me that the right guy to be world champion is Lewis. In fact my main fear would be if he didn't win it. Kimi Raikkonen barely talks to anyone and as such has done little for the sport, and as for Fernando Alonso, in his two years as world champion he has done nothing. He hasn't really been an F1 campaigner at all, but if Lewis wins the drivers' championship he will act like a real world champion. He will know exactly what is expected of him and what he has to do." But don't try to tell him what to do, Bernie :D Ginner 06-10-2007, 22:30 Race starts at 7am, so programme starting at 6.30 sounds about right. Glad I've seen this post. It's just given me another 45 mins in bed  Night night all. CHAIRBOY 07-10-2007, 07:17 Glad I've seen this post. It's just given me another 45 mins in bed  Night night all. Stay in bed dear, Hamilton's out - stuck on the gravel. Grim Reaper 07-10-2007, 07:20 Not only on the gravel but right out of this one. :( Unless Alonso etc have some wierd crash, then its down to the wire for the last race in Brazil. fetch92 07-10-2007, 07:41 i cant (edit) belive it his back tyre was (edit) and he shud have been took into pits earlia that way he might have had a chance. hope he does well next race. thats the last chance for this season . MickM 07-10-2007, 07:56 Hamilton guilty of tunnel vision trying too hard to win it this weekend, he should have took it steady and got some points in the bag instead of pushing so much. Ginner 07-10-2007, 08:32 Stay in bed dear, Hamilton's out - stuck on the gravel. Now if you could have told me that at 23:30 last night.... Strange how they kept him out when he was clearly struggling to keep the car on the track, let alone stay ahead of Kimi. Hamiltons error tho at the end of the day. Some points were clearly the order of the day, and that was a dreadful mistake to make. Still, Brazil becomes rather interesting now. And that would be 17:00 BST (http://www.formula1.com/races/in_detail/786/circuit_diagram.html) start time. I'd like to say that means a lie in on Sunday, but unfortunately I'm on Nights that weekend, so I'll have to get up early again! Bugger. Are you listening Lewis.. no more cockups son... I won't be happy. Grim Reaper 07-10-2007, 08:34 Hamilton guilty of tunnel vision trying too hard to win it this weekend, he should have took it steady and got some points in the bag instead of pushing so much. Possibly, but at the end of the day he's still a rookie in his first F1 season. If he blows it, it will be a seriously harsh learning curve. scottishdude 07-10-2007, 08:45 Some people may say that this might be a cleverly planned strategy to make the final race that more crowdpullingly exciting. ;) Grim Reaper 07-10-2007, 08:46 Some people may say that this might be a cleverly planned strategy to make the final race that more crowdpullingly exciting. ;) Cynic ;)............... Ginner 07-10-2007, 09:05 Some people may say that this might be a cleverly planned strategy to make the final race that more crowdpullingly exciting. ;) You mean a bit like the rumour that Ecclestone had his finger on the 'Rain on/Rain off' button? Grim Reaper 07-10-2007, 09:08 You mean a bit like the rumour that Ecclestone had his finger on the 'Rain on/Rain off' button? Mr Bernie really does control the weather. :suspect: I can't believe you didn't know that. :P Mr Bernie will now strike you down with lightening. :o Heyesey 07-10-2007, 09:15 Well, it's his first howler of a mistake in the whole season - we always said it's come sooner or later, and it's come SO late that it probably still won't stop him winning the title. Not sure why they didn't bring him in earlier (I didn't watch the race). Maybe they hadn't realised just how bad the tyres were, and bearing in mind he didn't need to beat either Raikkonen or Alonso - why worry if he's going to slip to third? Grim Reaper 07-10-2007, 09:17 Not sure why they didn't bring him in earlier (I didn't watch the race). Maybe they hadn't realised just how bad the tyres were, and bearing in mind he didn't need to beat either Raikkonen or Alonso - why worry if he's going to slip to third? He really should have been brought in earlier, the tyre canvas was clearly visible on one of the back tyres. NPB! 07-10-2007, 14:10 He really should have been brought in earlier, the tyre canvas was clearly visible on one of the back tyres. He was losing tons of time for a few laps before the incident too. his left front was bald at the first stop, but they didn't change the tyres then. Very strange. Grim Reaper 07-10-2007, 14:11 He was losing tons of time for a few laps before the incident too. his left front was bald at the first stop, but they didn't change the tyres then. Very strange. I think at the first stop they were trying to run the tyres down to slicks, but after he began losing 2 seconds a lap, the alarm bells should have been ringing. jesus 07-10-2007, 19:09 I sat and watched it this morning, and even I could see the tyres wouldn't have lasted another lap or two. So why leave it so late to come in, and why was he trying to stay ahead of Mr Boring Raikkonnen? He wasnt really racing against him, just needed to keep ahead of Alonso at the finish. Wouldn't have really mattered if he finished behind Kimi, he'd have still won the title. Sorry, but Lewis shot him self in the a ss on this one, unless the team "decided" to leave him out for a while longer, decided to put new tyres and refill him to the end of the race, hoping Alonso could pull something out of the bag and pass him, but hey, it didnt work, nil pwas for Monsieur 'Amilton. Was impressed by Vettel though, DC had a good solid race as did JB. MickM 07-10-2007, 21:43 I wonder what the odds are in Brazil for the Ferrari's qualifying on the 2nd row of the grid and Massa playing skittles into the 1st corner. :hihi: He's due a break failure. :P Ginner 07-10-2007, 22:45 I wonder what the odds are in Brazil for the Ferrari's qualifying on the 2nd row of the grid and Massa playing skittles into the 1st corner. :hihi: He's due a break failure. :P I think Hamilton should slip it into conversation with the press that he'll be watching replays of the 1990 Japanese GP in the lead up to Brazil. That should get Alonso and Kimi thinking ;) NPB! 08-10-2007, 17:17 I think at the first stop they were trying to run the tyres down to slicks, but after he began losing 2 seconds a lap, the alarm bells should have been ringing. Yeah I'd agree with that, a gamble that didn't pay off though. The car quickly became undrivable and really he should have been pulled in even if it meant fewer points. Damage limitation really. Vettel shows real promise, put him in a decent car and he will quickly become a podium regular happyhippy 09-10-2007, 00:05 As a Toro Rosso/Minardi* fan, and after the bile from Fuji, and after the pathetic performance from United in Bristol on Saturday, for both drivers to get points was a joy. Vettel's tears in the pit lane when we could have been on for our first ever podium (as either Minardi or Toro Rosso) hurt. Getting points and going in front of Spyker (Jordan) was immense! *Paul Stoddart sold the whole lot to Red Bull. The set up is exactly the same as Minardi F1 was/would have been. They're the same staff. kt530 18-10-2007, 17:43 Hamilton guilty of tunnel vision trying too hard to win it this weekend, he should have took it steady and got some points in the bag instead of pushing so much. It's not the same as winning the championship with a race win though is it? I admire him for going for gold. He'll still do it this weekend. |
