Does anyone know why there are about 5 fried chicken shops all on the Wicker? It baffles me how they could possibly stay in business!!

Do you think they will stay as part of the redevelopment? Looks like the fishing tackle place is going out of business also.

It used to be the case that if you went down there late in the evening, they were all busy (I seem to recall lots of cabs parked up on the pavements). Not sure how many will be left shortly (especially bearing in mind all their free parking will be gone soon).

The free parking is called "the pavement" isn't it? :hihi:

There are five chicken shops because they are mainly Asian customers, in fact for most of them it is the only "nightspot" for them in Sheffield. That is why they are able to make a few bob. Taking away the parking is sour grapes from the council who never realsied how popular they were going to be.

I just want Gulshan to reopen, and Chaman's. I don't blame them for not bothering though as at the moment as it's a bloody nigthmare down there and they don't seem to be putting in much effort to get it finished.

I tried to open up a shop round there called The Wicker Man, but the council wouldn't let me. Can't see why - if you want to perform a human sacrifice in Sheffield, where can you go?
