Hello,

I've been trying to find information about rollerskating in the UK, and most specifically in Sheffield, but I couldn't find much.
Except on this page: http://www.unece.org/trans/main/wp1/wp1doc/2001/wp12001-10e.doc
It is said that rollerskaters are pedestrians and they can use the road as long as they are not in the way.

It is also said that some local rules may apply; so what about Sheffield? Where can I find that kind of information?
I'm a little anxious because I could see not a single rollerskater here, and I wouldnt like to have a chat with policemen.

I'm also quite anxious about cars since they may not be used to rollerskates and they are even dangerous to pedestrians, but always wanted to visit Sheffield's hospitals anyway :)

I saw two rollerskaters today! Both under 13 and clinging to a parent in Endcliffe park. Christmas presents?

Perhaps rollerskating in Sheffield is unpopular because of

1) The hills - down is too fast and up is too hard!
2) The condition of our tarmac and paving!!!

I'll save you a seat in A&E

Hi

Skate Central is Sheffield own Roller Skating rink and its situated in town on Queens Road, box office 272 3037

Take a look at the website skatecentral.co.uk

Its safer than skating on the street!

hi pls_

i know what you mean. it seems quite confusing. i suppose that you have to stay on the pedestrian area.

but..what i find much more interesting: where do you skate? as much as i have seen of sheffield s streets, it is extremely hilly and covered in bumpy pavement. if you have a few sheffield-rollerblading hints for me, let me know... cheers, jen

ps: if you go rollerblading in london (www . thefns . com) you can go onto the street - but even that is illegal (although...good fun)
