So use public transport they ask us.
I do, I get the tram from middlewood every morning. What do the bright sparks of the council do? Close off leppings lane on a Monday morning. Tailbacks that wouldnt be out of place in central london and a logjam of trams. My 20 minute tram ride to work was doubled at least twice last week, all because traffic knowing full well that Leppings Lane was closed were quite happy to queue for half an hour to get onto Penistone road.
Middlewood Road is becoming increasingly frustrating in a morning, with cars nose to tail. My kids count the number of lone drivers in cars and I would say its quite a high percentage, in addition to the supermums driving their little darlings to school so they dont get wet or cold on the way. Amazingly enough the road is reasonably quiet during the school holidays, so why oh why oh why dont parents walk their kids to school. Most children live within walking distance of a primary school so please walk!
