Hi there, wonder if anyone could help me!

Its my 40th Birthday in a few weeks time, Do not want a party so instead going to have a full weekend of celebrations. Already going to Baan Thai Restaurant with my Mates, Sunday Lunch at the George, Hathersage. However a little puzzled for the Friday My Birthday - Any suggestions Normally go to The
Medetaranian at Sharrowvale for a special night. Thinking of Tyme at Crosspool. Any suggestions of a good standard would be appreciated. Thanks

I would say - don't do Thyme - I was very disappointed.

Try nonnas - biit minty, but the wife swears by it.

Alternatively, why not join the casino(s). Their food is generally good and not expensive as they would like you to come and eat and then spend 10X the saving on the tables.


Plus they have late licenses...

Anyway - enjoy.

Thanks for the suggestions, still considering. Yes the Blue Room was one I was wondering about. Has anyone been to the Greenhead House Restaurant at Burncross? heard its very good, but very pricey?

try Fischers at Baslow ..bit posh .. bit minty.. bit of a drive.. but worth the effort! or try Rafters at Hangingwater road

Don't usually like to give recommendations as individual tastes vary so much but since you ask.... I think Greenhead House is excellent. And so do lots of others - just tried to book a table for my wife's birthday more than two weeks in advance and couldn't get a table (Friday/Saturday nights). Is it pricey? - well it ain't cheap but surely the most important thing is value. On that score I think does well. Meals are priced by your main course choice. There are no hidden "extras" like paying loads for coffee and chocs!
