View Full Version : Ignore list - what does it do?
What happens when you add somebody to your ignore list?
I suppose you can't get PMs from them, but do all their posts become invisible too?

I'm also waiting to hear how that works too.

You get a message informing you that they are on your ignore list also.
Try it.
You can always remove them from the list @ a later date ;)
Small snag of a test @ http://www.line1.co.uk/images/sf01.gif;)
Bikertec 16-01-2005, 00:55 Its not worth using any post they put up says there on your ignore list then you have a option to look at it. PM's are only stored not deleted so if you unblock them you recieve all the crap they sent you. just not worth using.:loopy:
sparklesista 16-01-2005, 01:01 Why would you want to use the ignore list?
Are there certain members that don't get on or something?

Plus if someone quotes one of there posts you see it anyway.

No, I'm not that sort of person.
I read in a different thread that I'm on somebody's 'ignore' list.
I haven't had a PM about this though, so I'm not sure their statement is true.
Perhaps they're just having a childish sulk?
hi strix , now i would like to know , why on earth would anyone want to ignore you ?

Are you trying to be as sarcastic as I've been accused of? :suspect:
Looks like you've a long way to go - but keep trying
(Had to go looking, but just found out you're the irresponsible pet owner who's taken exception to my opinion that cats deserve the same care as dogs ;) )
You were put in an ignore list for being sarcastic? I would have put you in for other reasons..... ;)

Other forumers posted an interest in the purchase on the thread, but I got ratted off for trying to be helpful when I spotted it may be a 'wanted' ad, (as it was)
Ok, so having been ratted off, I joined in the thread and the public lambasting.
Have I narked you off too, Lurch?

No, I don't get upset, (really), and put people in ignore lists, I just laugh. I'm sure I could quite easily get on a few peoples though.
Usenet is a different matter, loads of people in my killfile, and I'm on most other peoples for being some sort of yob probably!
I've just looked, and the only thing we seem to disagree on is ISP choice.
Perhaps we'll have to try harder?
A forum's pointless if we all agree. :( :)
Well, someone better start a completely pointless argumentative thread then, I might go and do that, should start a good riot!
roughy101 16-01-2005, 20:21 strix, are yout alking about me, i have pm you.

Oh dear, looks like the thought police are about. Obviously you can't then.

Somebody's thread 'disappeared' did it? :hihi: Declare yourself a particular political party member and you can post whatever contentious threads you like! (or so it seems  )
Whats the point of an ignore list on an open forum??? Isn't the whole idea to read other differing views?

I thought that too. What was the harm in my, albeit pointless, harmless thread? There's loads of threads on here that don't interest me and I don't even look at, I don't go posting replies on them asking the mods to close them.
Perhaps the mods could close all threads unless they interest me only?

Not on here, you can only read what the mods want you to. This thread is just as pointless to some people as the one I started.

I think some people hadn't raed this thread first, so didn't get your 'joke', Lurch.
Dare you to start your own 'political party' on a thread!

Still don't think it was doing any harm though, ah well.

Better not, I'll probably be banned from the forum!
