Well, you didn't specify whether you meant, "who's the best we currently have" or "who's the best there's ever been."

To get the thread back on track, let's assume you meant the former and that Brian Deane is not an available option :hihi:

True, they might not be. But it sounds like they most likely are.

Either way. I'd expect someone on a Sheffield football thread might have heard of Brian Deane.

How do you work out the poster's a 'he'? Hmmm.

Are you even from Sheffield?

If your talking goal record, then it would have to be Beattie, who im dying to see is Rob Hulse, and for the past 2 home games ive been screaming for Billy Sharp.

Ive totally avoided the question ;)

Beattie- goals
Hulse- holding, supplying, heading.

.

Why? He has shown he can't hack this league SO FAR.

Well Robbie Sharp has not been given much of a opportunity to do much,he scored 2 crackers against Morecambe. But the thing is Beattie playing well it is difficult for the manager to see who can help him at the moment,I would give Shelton a try on Saturday along side Beattie.

Sharp has not looked up to it at all I'm afraid.

2 goals against Morecambe (where he also missed 3 sitters by the way) doesn't make any difference.

For me Stead Shelton and Beattie are miles in front of him. The only thing Sharp has for him is that he is a Blade.

Stead? you must be joking?
Lad needs a break, he looks knackered out there

Well i disagree, i dont put Stead up there, behind Beattie, Shelton then Sharp, but only on recent form, or non existent form.
Stead has his qualities but there some drive from Sharp which Stead lacks and i think Sharp has more skill to beat a man and gain that extra yard.
Im not saying Sharp was dynamite against Cardiff because Shelton seemed to do most of the work up front that last 10 minutes, but id like to see him play more often, as i would like to see Lucketti replace Morgan, and play 3 up front more often...but you cant have everything...

Do you go to the games? It would seem clearly not. Either that or you have blinkers on, because Sharp has not done anything to suggest he deserves a starting place.

Wrong end of the pitch fellas.
The system ( type of football ) that Robson is trying to play may not suit all players, or the majority of times.
Each striker mentioned has abilities different from one another , which in my view is good as it gives us more options.
The failing that Robson has is i don't think he knows a settled front 2 and he should be concentrating on the defence/midfield.

Yes, ive been to all the home games this season. I think Sharp has shown enough to start, maybe Robson should try and mix it up, relying on Beattie and Stead clearly isnt working. I always expect an argument from you though, if it isnt your point of view, you just cant take it.

I thought Sharp (and Shelton) changed the game on Tuesday when they came on.

Sharp is a cracking player who needs to be played as a main striker, once the goals start he'll be unstoppable.

Defence is deffo a big issue. Theres no point banging in 2 if you cant stop the goals leaking past the back four.
I think Robson is scared (maybe not the right word) to remove Morgan from CB. Id rather Lucketti be in there.

No,

His performances are still good even if he ain't scored much. But after tonight I don't know what to suggest actually, I'm appalled

Stead has one... Time for a change?

No way...Tell you what he was the best Blade on the pitch today at Bristol and I couldn't believe he got took off.
Stead might not be the fastest bloke around but, he works his socks off.
Beattie on the other hand touched the ball 3 times and spent most of his time wandering aimlessly around midfield.

This view is based on seeing the Blades on telly at the pub today and not going week in and week out like the rest of you Blades on here.

Regards CB

I agree Stead works hard, but by the time the 2nd half comes around he looks near death, as for his pace, he has got enough to beat a man...just about. I still think Sharp should be given a chance, particulaly as Blades are slipping down the table.
I missed the Live Bristol game, through work, but ill take your word about Beattie.
