Monday 17th January sees the most extraordinary day ever in radio. Commercial radio is coming together to broadcast UK Radio Aid - a day of very special guests, presenters and activity to raise money for the Tsunami appeal. You'll never hear anything like it again. Let's come together and help them build their future.

It's a special day of programmes that will be broadcast on every commercial radio station in the UK - from Classic FM to Galaxy. Presenters include Chris Evans, Shane Ritchie, Zoe Ball, Simon Bates and Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne.

They are broadcasting live from our offices on pear street, behind the pomona pub.

They will be there about 4 o'clock with a local band playing.

can;t remember the name of the band, but they are supposed to be a bit like busted. remember them!

It was all going quite well until 10am when they handed over to Simon Bates and........... Jade Goody.

Her common, scummy, chavvy voice screeching out drove us to turn off.

Would have to agree with you on this one...

Jade was defo not a good choice... but i did notice Simon did do quite a bit of the talking... she hasnt changed has she!? Still as thick as ever :? wonders if she really knew what she was on the radio for...

Its such a shame for a person to have so little knowledge... especially with 2 little ones to bring up... :(

Really enjoying the broadcast tho... great idea

Is it me, or do the previews for this event sound very smug, saying look how wonderful we are.

Believe me I agree that it is a very good cause, and I hope they raise as much as possible, but I'm always very cynical when otherwise commercial organisations get involved with charity, it seems that they are, as usual, always looking at the bottom line.

I am feeling a little the way you are too... believe me i do feel for these people that have lost relatives/houses etc... I have also made donations via texts...

But i cant help thinking what is going to be done about the British that have also lost Loved ones/friends & family... especially those that were out there on special ocassions... Will all the money just be shipped out? :? an yet again 'our own' suffer :(

I don't listen to local radio much, it makes me ill how bad and unfunny it is. I find national radio is always quality DJ-ing and the comedy is a bit better.

But thats just me!
