Has anyone any idea what those 2 weird black lines are in the clouds above North Sheffield! :huh:

I think they're caused by planes disturbing the could. Kind of a reverse of the white con-trails you see against a clear sky.
Mind you I could be totally wrong. :)

Isn't it contrails of planes above the clouds that cast a shadow on the clouds?

i saw one of those when i was over grenoside last week
it was a long dark line pointing down to a farm,just above it was a contrail,
but the shadow seemed to be in mid air rather than against something (if you understand)
i took some pics of lenticular clouds that were in the sky at the time ..

I saw the cross and couldn't fathom how it got there. :huh:

It must be a new EU ruling. Now all passenger planes must dispose of human waste midflight. Your seeing dispersed poo particles in the upper atmosphere.........:hihi:.

The cross was a not so subtle attempt to warn sheffield not to vote labour should a snap election have taken place.

Seriously though what are they?
