I know everyone uses word processors these days (including me), but does anyone know where typewriter ribbons of the sort used for the old manual typewriters could be obtained in Sheffield? I have several old ones and know a luddite who has refused to give up his old manual as he is allergic to modern technology! So I'd like to get new ribbons in place of the fading ancient ones currently fitted.

Items on ebay show how much old typewriters are being collected but strangely I couldn't find anyone offering ribbons there.

Try carsons, the stationers, on west street...

They stock most things of an office supplies nature.

Or, you could try office world/ staples although they may only supply ribbons for electronic typewriters or pc printers.

There is a tiny little old fashioned stationers in Woodseats that will probably be able to help.

I'm the same with the name of a little shop in town near the main fire station, SYHA offices & car sales.:( which I used aeons ago). Which, TBH, is probably not there any more?

Try Ash Computer Supplies - we just ordered some at work for the only remaining typewriter in our building. They are at Heeley somewhere sorry don't know where but I am sure they will be in the phone book.
