Hi need help just got 2 pc from an action but can’t get into system as they are password protected can anyone tell me how to get passed administrator in m s doss and how to change pass word they are pc are pentam 3 with windows 2000 pro on

I believe it's against the T&C of this forum to tell you how to do that, but just try a Google search for Windows password hacks - there's lots out there.

I had to do the same thing once, and all I had to do was download a boot image, drop it onto a floppy (more usually a CD these days) and boot from it.

It loaded a cut down Linux which had one job only to do, and that was to enable me to change the Administrator password.

Sorry, but it's been a long time since I did that and I've no idea anymore where I got it from, but I started with a Google search. Good luck.

just burn it to cd and boot from cd, ive used it twice now and it works. first time i found it was cos i needed something to get into my workmates daughters laptop cos she forgot her password, used that got in, changed the password so it didnt ask for one :)

I haven't studied the T&C in depth like I know some have, but I've seen the mods jump all over any request in the past for anything vaguely dodgy. Just thought this might get viewed in the same light.

It can be argued that telling someone how to bypass a password is tantamount to telling them how to hack. Which it is. Sort of.

indeed, thats why if you dont know somebodys doing something illegal then talk of like this and torrents should be allowed as they can be used for both legal and illegal use, and unless somebody explains they could be using it all legally.
