:rant:AS THE TITLE SAYS
yesterday we laid our beloved mum in law to rest
whilst we were doing so some scum broke in to her bungalow &
trashed it going through her belongings & made a mess of the place.
as expected the good people of the estate saw nothing heard nothing or were just afraid to say anything.
when the police eventually arrived [an hour & half after i rang them
all we got was a crime number . the police know who did it but as they say we cant just nick them as the courts wont do anything.
we may as well just open the door & say take what you want.

According to a lot of people on here it hardly ever happens or you're lying and then you're just supposed to just take comfort in the fact that somewhere else is worse and except it, while having sympathy and understanding for the people who commit these crimes.

How about you don't put words in people's mouths please?

If there ever was a time to call someone a liar I don't think that time is now thank you.

Chazter,

many sympathies to you on the loss of your mum. To have this happen, on top of that trauma, well, it is just lower than low, IMO.

Scroaty little gits.

Remember though that it happens all the time in real life and many of the people on here that deny such crimes occur regularly seem to live in some ridiculous dream world. This forum is definately NOT representative of society in general, thats for sure.

I hope this scum rot in hell matey.

I'm not calling any individual a liar, it's some of the people who comment on these sort of threads call the OP's liars, I think you've misread my post.

just as an aside from my earlier post...

My late mother (RIP, 23 years ago today, in fact, bless her...) always had a philosophy that
"God doesn't pay His debts in money...!"

Lhope He doesn't, in the case of these scroates.... and they get their debt paid back to them... in spades!

The Thing That Angers Me Is Somebody Must Have Watched The Funeral Cars Drive Away Then Gone Straight In To The Bungalow.
God Knows How Low They Will Stoop .
My Father In Law Wont Go Back To Live In His Own Home Due To Fear Of
The Idiots That Did It So Now He,s Going To Stay With Us .
But All His Memories Are There .

as i read this post i feel sick to the stomach to think that some lowlife scum bag has obviously laid in waiting for the funeral cars to drive away before raiding a grieving families home, how sad and heartless some people are becoming..i am a strong believer that what comes around goes around and i hope this imbocile gets his/hers ten fold.
i am very sorry for your loss.

I'm really sorry to hear about your loss and can sympathise completely.

A similar thing happened to my step father years ago. He was burgled once at his home stealing his late wifes jewelrey, then the shop he run was burgled and they stole his camera's (he was a photographer) so he couldn't work for a while. He then had his home burgled again!!

He had heart problems and this made everything worse, he had to go for an operation on his heart and passed away whilst being operated on. As he was well known in the area it was reported in the papers and not long after his garden was stripped of anything worth while taking. This was very upsetting for us as he loved his garden dearly and it was such a shame all the work he had put in it had been destoryed.

I hate these people for what they did to him. I'm not blaming them for his death but they didn't make his later years easy with the stress and worry.

Just try and put this behind you and remember the good times, hopefully the scum that do these horrid things will get what comes to them in the end.

I am so sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how you must feel towards these people. And Zimily's messge was similarly heartbreaking. People seem to have lost *all* sense of shame and decency. I noticed on the front of the Sheffield Telegraph today a small photo from when the police raided the houses of drug dealers this week. The guy being arrested was looking straight into the camera and giving them the finger. That just seems to sum up people's attitudes these days. There was a time when a person being arrested like that would keep their heads down and try to hide themselves. They at least had a slight sense of shame, but not any more. No respect, no decency, no shame, no boundaries that they can't cross.

Medusa, have another look at the post. Green Web wasn't pointing arrows at anyone - it was simply a 'tongue in cheek' statement. I saw it straight away.

What utter scum. I even read once that in some cases the scum actually read through obituaries to pick people out who they know will be at a funeral on a certain day.

My mother always got a friend to "look after the house" when we were at funerals as she was a firm believer that people trawled the obituraries. Never really believed her, but just goes to show, you should listen to your mum!

Why didn't the police take more interest?
Couldn't they take some DNA samples?
If they say they know who did it they could take them in for questioning, "where were you at the time this took place?" etc.
It seems the police don't think this sort of thing matters very much.

THE POLICE JUST SAID THEY CANT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THE COURTS WOULD JUST LET THEM GO AGAIN .
MAKES ME WONDER WHY WE PAY OUR TAXES .
WE MAY AS WELL ALL BECOME CRIMINALS THEY SEEM TO GET ON IN LIFE .:confused::confused:

Bumlumps?

Sympathies to all concerned, and hoping the 'bumlumps' responsible are caught, punished, and then catch something terminal to round off their useless existance.

When my Father died, the Funeral Director visited me to discuss the funeral arrangements. When it came to wording the obituary for 'The Star', he advised me not to include any house number or street, but to simply state 'of Ecclesfield'. I was so keyed up that I never asked him why, but I did heed his advice. Eight years later I realise why. What a dreadful thing to happen. I hope those responsible rot in hell.

This is wrong, I can't believe the scum of today!!!!1

Do the right thing though, I think a nice brick hammer to the knuckles of the culprits about a dozen times per hand should do it?????? Congratulations to SYP again for their prompt and understanding service!.........And they wonder why people take the law into their own hands????

I hope you find out who these low-lifes were and hurt them very muchly!

Sorry for your loss and I hope your are ok!
