Me and a couple of mates are getting a new music project up and running and we are currently a guitarist/bassist and drummer. Really keen to find a female singer. Age not an issue but we are all early 30's. We are playing original acoustic songs but very much like Athlete/Snow Patrol/Joss Stone etc. We practice at Whirlow in a band members house so no issue with cost of rehearsals and the practice times can be flexible and will be quite laid back. Keen to gig in the future and all current members have experience of live perfomances.

Can send a CD of songs we will be playing for a flavour of what we are about.

Did you find a vocalist yet? only just found this post and I sing and have been looking for somewhere to sing again recently. I have a very jazz/ soprano type voice, think Portishead etc I don't do blues or Nina Simone very well however (or Otis Redding as I was asked to do at one audition once)!!

Hi, I've resurected this thread as we are now in need of a talented singer songwriter to compliment our band. It is a laid back acoustic setup with some original songs already written and ready to perform. We are after commitment as much as talent as we want to take this as far as possible. We will be practicing once a week in Whirlow(no charge for rehersal space), gigging as and when we can but ultimately we will be looking at recording and releasing some of our material. Our last singer couldn't really give the commitment due to exams and Uni etc. Experience not necesarily important, though confidence, talent and a good personality are!

Hello there! I'm quite interested in your post :D I sing blues/folk/jazz and anything really. I'm very much in love with acoustic music like Joni Mitchell etc...I've sang on stage before in college and sang as a duet in Ireland but we didn't do any live performances, I also write poetry but not really had a bash at songwriting! Due to my cigarette smoking, My voice can sound a bit husky but I also sing like an angel hehe ;) I live just outside Sheffield but can get in easy :) I haven't really got anything to send you but i'm sure I could whip something up!
