View Full Version : Motorola V525 pics to emails
I own a motorola V525 - I've tried to send pics that I've taken in emails to my pc email account, but it just aint happening!!!!
Can someone tell me how this is done & what the set-up is ?
to my knowledge you just have to have GPRS set up correctly on your phone, can you use WAP correctly? if so you should be able to send emails like you send txt's...
who you with? I'm with O2 and it usually takes a few hours for them to arrive... although personally, I just plug in my phone to my PC and download them... but I have a different phone to you, although I'm sure you can get a data cable for your phone or infrared or something :)
I've got bluetooth on it if that helps, someone at work said it was one way of transferring pics but I had to lay my phone side by side to his???
It's just that I have some pics I'd like to save and send them to my pc thats all . . .
steevie/d 14-01-2005, 16:31 if you phone vodafone up they will put you right i think you have to have it enabled thro voda same thing happend to me i phoned voda up and they did it over the fone if you want to put pics on your comp why not invest in a data cable hope this helps steve....
Steevie, do you have the same phone? how much are data cables?
steevie/d 14-01-2005, 16:45 no m8 i got motorolla v925 but i could not send pics untill voda enabled it as for the data cable you gan get 1 from the phone shop but they tend to charge the earth i would go down the moor in the town centre there is a stall down there that sells mobile stuff i got 1 for my son he has the same phone as you m8 i think it was about £10 for cable and the disk with phone tools on it hope this helps steve..
Cheers mate, thats a great help! I think I'll nip into town and buy one of these thingymajiggs. It's probably easier and quicker than getting hold of a Vodaman and then setting it all up.
Cheers pal!

Buy one for me while you're at it please, and PM or e-mail it to me ! Seriously, let me know how you get on, thanks.
the v525 has bluetooth which connects to other bluetooth devices within 10 meters of each other you can get a bluetooth dongle from computer shops or fairs which plug into your usb slot on the pc and then you have two way data transfer, bluetooth is radio waves not infra-red, the devices do not have to be pointing at each other
just another way of connectivity.
OK! so I went out and bought a datacable from the guy on the moor today, put the CD in and pressed setup - It then gave me a list of numbers and told me to click on the one which was my mobile . . .
I could see alot of Motorola but they had US or Japan in the line - can anyone tell me which one I need to press to install a Motorola V525?
Has anyone else had one of these datacables - if so, I'd really appreciate abit of help with getting my pics onto my pc.
Never used a cable for it, but Bluetooth is easy...buy a dongle (about 12 quid from the don valley comp fair), install the software that came with it, plug the dongle into a usb port, and turn bluetooth on on your phone. And thats all there is to it. Dont know about Motorola, but with my ericsson I can even use the phone as a remote control for my PC, via bluetooth.
Apologies for bringing this up again because I thought I'd managed to get it sorted. I installed a disk onto my p.c and connected up my phone via a usb cable and waited for my pics to come up on the screen so I could transfer them over.
Instead I keep getting an annoying box telling me that no whitespace is allowed.
'Error on line 28, position 18'.
Does anyone know what this is and what it means by white space?
Thanks.
Sounds like a dodgy install disc mate, risk you take though buying from computer fairs... I've had many a faulty disc from them

I am assuning that your phone is connected to Vodaphone.
Back to e-mails, this should work from your phone, but you have to set up your email account with vodaphone via internet with your P.C. and sort out your username and password etc..
I have never done this with vodaphone, but have with orange and orange phones. And have sent e-mails from abroad to my boss without any problem, and he's replied back to me while i was still abroad. I also used it to send pictures from my phone if I can't get bluetooth to work at a friend's house or if they haven't got it.
If you go on the vodaphone website, it ought to show you all the settings to put into your phone to make it all work.
muddycoffee 03-03-2005, 16:08 Bluetooth isn't always fully compatible between different types of phone. I have a samsungD500 and my mate has SPV500, and we can't get mp3s to transfer via bluetooth, but it works fine via infrared.
I have used data cables on older phones in the past, and usually you download software from the net to make best use of your phone. Most of this software is quite ameteurish, or even unfinished looking, and always a bit of a pain to use.
When you have set it up correctly it is much easier to send an email from your phone email account to your main email account, although your mobile phone company will charge you for sending an e-mail, depending upon your tariff.
