Does anyone know/recommend where I can get a walk-over grate made to cover a coal chute? I need one but have been unable to find something to do the job, so I'm going to have to get one made but I'm not sure where to go.

Technically, it's not a coal chute because it's bigger than your average chute but calling it a coal chute means everyone knows what I mean :)

Try the wrought iron worker (he makes railings and stuff) who has a little workshop just up the Stannington Road on the right at the back of a used car lot. Close to the Gas Club. If you go as far as the Anvil Pub you've missed it. He renovated my coal hole cover. LOL (seriously)
