to be honest i think its the teeny bopper bands what have the shortest shelf life a good band will last longer than a few years

On the subject of McFly, I think it would be quite cool if they did a cover of the Huey Lewis "Back in Time" tune that was on the Back to the Future soundtrack.

It would probably go down quite well, considering the name!

A, but, Charlie's other band, Fightstar (which are proper "grown up" Gee-tar music) are playing Sheffield 2 weeks today.

I did love watching America or Busted, it was hilarious. They really didnt see themselves as a manufactured pop band. Priceless.

The reason most bands don't last more than a few years these days is the fact that they want fame and money right now. They don't want to work for it by touring the clubs or smaller venues to build a fanbase like bands used to.

Sorry like, but thats just rubbish. Loads of bands tour and play smaller venues and are around a long time. Many actively avoid the huge corporate pushing lables and marketing men.

This kind of band wont come and bite you in the ass tho', you have to look for it.

You're coming from the commercial chart fodder perspective of it. And more to the point its the labels that want money now, once it starts fading, bang, they're dropped.

Total Guitar magazine tried to interview them, basically to see if they could actually play guitars. The interview was done over the telephone and as the questions became more technical a voice could be heard in the background telling Mr Eyebrows what to say.

Infact, they were so good at answering the questions (probably what gear do they use, who their guitar heroes were, what scales do they use - pentatonic, blues scale, mixolydian, dorian, etc) that they ended up putting the phone down!

Muppets.

I'm not a fan of tory supporting public school boys but these kids could play their guitars and could sing. They sold 3 million albums. From what i can gather the bloke who has caused the split has another band who gathering some good and credible press. He is 19 years old, a millionaire and wants move on, good luck to him

I, for one, this it's an awful shame. A band that played their own instruments, wrote their own songs and were one of the most successful british bands for ages, are no more. There were a seminal band in many respects and in a different league altogether from Westlife or the other manufactured boy bands. (note: busted formed themselves).
I shall be having a Busted funeral party later to show my respect. I'm also wearing black today. It is indeed a sad day.

I cant stand these fly by night boy bands... If only bands such as Backstreet Boys / Five & Boyzone had lasted a bit longer... i think they could have matured into great bands...

The last one left now really is Westlife... not keen on their new music... getting too old before their time i feel :(

That band has done nothing for the rock community, bringing millions of the little teen buggers into thinking they listen to cool music along with The Darkness :? making the prices of guitars crank up due to so many little brats wanting to learn to play like their "idols"

anyways, all i can say is I'm a happy man now, maybe the price of that Epiphone SG400 gothic will go down in price now that that stupid monobrow Busted guy isn't playing it on stage anymore :D I was so annoyed how its price soared when they came on the scene and pushed me into buying a different guitar... although I do love my Ibanez so very much!

At the bottom of the article there was this

Maybe you could have his Epiphone SG400. Afterall, it's never even been plugged in.

Or IMHO, save your bucks and buy a Gibson. The electronics in Epiphones are poor (wiring between pick-ups, selector and knobs is where they compromise - hence they're a load cheaper than The Real Thing).

I know this as I own both and believe me, the Gibson is the works.

i think people r unfair to say they r crap as they rite all thier own songs and r brill at what they do. also will any1 be supporting fightstar (charlies new band) i dont now whether or not i will because that was the reason that busted split . some fans r being very cruel bout this and r targeting charlie at his gigs.

Busted aren't crap! They were highly successful at being annoyingly bland, vacuous and untalented.

It's the bouncy, tuneless cacophony they managed to sell to the masses that masqueraded as music that was crap.

well being one of busteds biggest fans i couldnt believe it when charlie decided to leave i respect all your opinions but only when you say you dont like there music i dont think just because there music doesnt appeal to you that you have the right to brand them as crap there music is far from crap its lively funny great to listen to and just because you have only heard songs they released doesnt mean they havent done some brilliant meaningfull ones

Haha, yeah. I was just sticking up for Epiphone. They've been around a hell of a lot longer than Gibson, since about 1890 I believe, and the early models were more than a match for any Gibson.
