The Canary Islands have decent weather in November, and you can get some cheap deals especially if you don't mind going at short notice.

We had nice weather in Malta in November. I think some of the budget airlines fly there now too.

We've paid £187 for a week in Lanzarote with great flights, in a nice 3* hotel and a 1 minute walk to the beach/resort centre, but that's going out on 29th November.

Cheapest we found was www.thomascook.co.uk. Take a look at www.canariescancellations.com but at that time, expect to pay at least £250 each.

Not many beaches in Malta, mostly man made so would suggest either Paradise Bay or Melleiha Bay. Having said that it's a great place to go, been 6 times.

http://www.holidaysuncovered.co.uk/

Check this site out - it lists thousands of properties by resort/name. I think if you read all the reports you get an idea of whether it's OK or not. (ie some people just complain at anything ...) It's worth a look anyway. Happy Holidays!

Yeah if you have the hotel name, just google it and click on the tripadvisor or holidaysuncovered website results for reviews.

Being Malta resident I can tell you Nov will be too cold for the sea TBH. Stay clear of St Julians, Sliema, Buggiba, Qwara. Mellieha ok but a long way (relatively) from the major tourist attractions. Bear in mind a Malta 4 star hotel is like a 3 star in other med resorts.

The better hotels are raddisson, corinthia, westin dragonara or le meridien

Cheap flights on airmalta.com, ryanair or britishjet.

We swam in the sea in Malta in November, and it wasn't cold at all, I got sun burn too!Spent alot of time at paradise bay as well, although it was a bus ride away The buses are really cheap for getting around,by the way.

We visited Gibraltar last week, and it was bloomin brilliant. The views from the top of the rock are stunning, and the kids loved the monkeys.Well worth a short stay,in my opinion.

I'm trying to decide where to go next year as well. I need to be able to do it on a budget (about £300 per person for flights and hotel). We don't like sun holidays, so want a city with lots of interesting sights and attractions, plus surrounding areas of interest that are easy to get to on public transport. We did Dublin this year - any ideas for where we go next?

We have just coeme back from Marbella, and spent the grand total of around 4 hours on the beach in 2 weeks. There is just so much to see. Malaga is a lovely city (apart from me getting scammed by a gypsy) Mijas in the mountains,is gorgeous, as is Ronda. Also went to Gibraltar, which I mentioned in another post.

We found the area excellent for exploring, and although we had a car, we met people that did manage to get around on the bus or coach. We flew with Ryanair to Granada, but if you are not hiring a car,Malaga is a better option, with flights from Doncaster too.
