Mini_Cooper 24-09-2007, 19:32 I saw some cage fighting at the weekend, it wasn't bad. One of my friends has a budgie avery, and 2 of the male budgies were having a fight in their cage. Think the fight was about which male gets to have it off with the female budgies. Carcass 24-09-2007, 20:10 Its not 'cage fighting' - its called Mixed Martial Arts (or, more commonly, MMA). When you ask 'is there anywhere it takes place regularly' - do you mean you want to train or spectate? Pro and semi-pro fights are over-18. I don't think there's an age restriction on amateur rules but I stand ready to be corrected. GazB 24-09-2007, 20:49 I don't think any gyms specialise in providing MMA training in Sheffield. What you have to do is train at a few places and then just put them all together. Muay Thai and Brazillian Ju-jitsu being the most common and in my opinion, most effective. midgeowl 24-09-2007, 21:46 When you ask 'is there anywhere it takes place regularly' - do you mean you want to train or spectate? The 393 club do kickboxing on some nights and BJJ on others, but as far as I know it's seperate instructors and it isn't taught specifically as a combination. phphilz 25-09-2007, 08:52 There was a Shootfighting class a few years back, the last I heard Kayvon was running it. Rabbiteno1 25-09-2007, 12:43 No. It's still run by Peps. I believe that they entered a guy in a recent MMA fight, so i guess it's still going. midgeowl 25-09-2007, 14:01 What excattly is Shootfighting:gag: Rabbiteno1 25-09-2007, 14:39 Its no-gi submission fighting from standing to the ground.
