I went past Concord sports centre for the first time in a while the other day and I noticed that all the car park is dug up and it looked like the place was closed.

Can someone tell me what is happening there?

they are undergoing a major refit of the reception area and fitness suites, they are however still open, the entrance is now round the back

It's having a major re-vamp at a cost over £1.2 million, It will re-open again properly on 11th February. There will be a brand new gym - 2 floors, a new health spa, nail bar food area etc.:cool:

Is the car park round the back also then?

It is yes.

And it gets very busy as its not as big as the front one, although there is overspill car parks too.

It's about time they did something with Concord Sports Centre, I remember going there as a kid and it used to be great, over the years though it's got run down and was basically falling apart....no help from the chavs that hang around most of the time.

Im glad to know that it is getting a new lease of life! hope it becomes as popular as it used to be!:clap:
