Chris_Sleeps 22-09-2007, 16:10 Ring 'Electro Music' in Doncaster, i've had my amp fixed with them numerous times and never had a reason to grumble. Do not (repeat - not) go to Hartleys on London Road. disco_magnet 23-09-2007, 13:14 Do not (repeat - not) go to Hartleys on London Road. why not? other people have recommended him. Too expensive? Bad workmanship? Chris_Sleeps 24-09-2007, 11:47 I've told this story once before and got it deleted for "slander", so i shall leave the bad bits out. I took my valve amp in for fixing and he said it needed new valves. I left a £40 deposit and at the end of the week it still wasn't fixed. He said they weren't here yet. It doesn't take a week to get some valves delivered, i have bought them myself since then and had them delivered in days. When they go to him he said he'd fitted them and it still wasn't working so i waited another week. In the end i had a gig on a Friday night so i rang him the week before and told him if it wasn't fixed i wanted the amp and my money back, he could keep his parts. He pulled his finger out and i had to drive to him on Friday afternoon, pick it up and go straight to soundcheck. Never had any trouble with electro-music; just the downside of driving to Doncaster to get it fixed. |
