As most of you will know, Bar Phoenix is situated in the "HUBS" building - formerly the national centre for popular music.

As the students descend on sheffield once again, the entertainments team have decided to have KARAOKE there on Wednesday nights.....

The bar is open to anyone, and its going to be packed to the rafters next Wednesday, loads of people having a few beers while getting to know each other (most of them will be freshers)

So why not go down, have a beer or three and have a go on the karaoke ?

All lyrics on a large projector screen, and if the wiring is sorted out in time, it will be on all the plasma screens around the bar as well.

There are at least 70,000 karaoke songs to choose from, so im sure there will be something to suit everyone.

The trial run was last Wednesday, and was a great night - a little slow to start but it soon picked up and everyone (including the entertainments team) enjoyed themselves :D

So go on down and give it a go, especially if you are new in town and want to meet other new students...

And due to the success of the karaoke last term, I have been invited back this term.

Starts on the 16th at 8pm, and on the 23rd there is going to be an X factor style karaoke competition with 3 of the uni staff as judges - final to be held on the night.
