DaFoot   10 #1 Posted September 20, 2007 Noticed couple of small marks on images a while back on the sky, had assumed it was the lens, but another lens now showing same splodges... guess it's the sensor  Can anyone recommend either a cleaning kit (by actual use preferably) or recommend a shop that can do it for me? GrinderBloke   10 #2 Posted September 21, 2007 Before you try the wet method get yourself a rocket blower and give that a try, you may well find that will be sufficient to dislodge some sensor muck.  I've used the wet cleaning method (sensor swabs & Eclipse fluid) since 2000 and have never had a problem. DaFoot   10 #3 Posted September 21, 2007 Tried a bit of air, no luck  I'll see what I can find on the swabs/fluid...can you recommend a brand/shop?
 Share this content via...
Webbo   10 #4 Posted September 21, 2007 I had a similar problem with my Canon, but at the time wasn't sure what it was - so I took it into Jessops and they sorted it for me, and sent me out with a Rocket Blower and Optical Cleaning cloth (they used the cloth) which moved the marks. Chumley   10 #6 Posted September 21, 2007 Yep, definitely cameraclean.  Make sure you get the right kind of eclipse fluid - I think you need E2 for your Sony.
 Share this content via...

GrinderBloke   10 #8 Posted September 29, 2007 dafoot, it gets less nerve racking the more you do it, but even after all these years with digital I only wet clean my sensors when the crud gets too annoying.
 Share this content via...
