I wouldn't be too concerned by it Strix, this kind of activity happens every now and then.
What we have to remember is that it is an active volcano, although it hasn't erupted for a long time it could do. I am still booking to go out there in August.

It makes you wonder, though. The earth does seem to be rather angry just now.

Yes I think it is the one that will cause a giant tsunami and apparently destroy most of America's east coast. Also, the one on Las Palmas is credited with this resulting tsunami devastation too I think. Although apparently if the eruption falls the wong way into the Atlantic it may effect us here in blighty.

In case anyone was getting worried the actual volcano that would cause the Tsunami is Cumbre Vieja on La Palma island and not the one thats errupted.

So, we can put our wellies away for now.

The destruction of the Eastern Seaboard in the USA, will happen when Gran Canaria finally bids it's farewells and slips into the Altlantic with vengeance.

Oh yes.

But it could be a long time, so don't worry.

I confidentally predict that you will be able to celebrate Christmas and the next New Year - but you may be half way up some ageing beech tree wearing damp pants and wet socks.

It seems to be a major misapprehension that this can even happen.

I think it was a TV program that caused it , "megatsunami" or summat, load of scare stories, it turned out.

The power of the media, Phan - the Drama Duke that I am. Just a different angle.

The world is sure to end one day.

But I am not planning to be around anyway.

I might opt to see the spectacle in some restaurant at the end of time.

And I'll have the dish of the day.

So, we can put our wellies away for now. I was in La Palma and Tenerefe a couple of weeks ago and visited both Volcano's.
They seemed rather dormant then.

You've been to one of "those" New Year parties too :)
