The Walkabout in Sheffield is good for live music on Saturday nights. Not sure how easy it is to book in with them and may depend on what type of music you play but may be worth a look.

The Boardwalk is a good venue on Snig Hill (I think)

BTW - the Walkabout is closed for renovations at the moment - should be open sometime around the middle of February

If you want to put on your own gig then The Grapes on Trippet Lane is your place. It's £60 to hire it for the night but that includes PA and sound engineer. You set the door price and keep the entrance money.

Ring Ash on 07752 619187 to book - it's usually booked up a good couple of months in advance.

Also might be worth you getting in touch with Mark at Real Promotions (http://www.realpromo.co.uk/) - he puts on a series of gigs called Sheffield Vs.... which feature a band or two from sheffield with bands visiting from other cities.

Good luck!

The Grapes is most definitely good for small gigs :)

A friend of mine has played there a few times.
