Every time my cursor is placed over a saved picture, it displays an error report which reads 'Windows explorer has encounted a problem and needs to close.'
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

I'm sure I had a similar problem with AVIs, but have no idea how it got fixed  Don't remember having to do much - maybe it just sorted itself out :loopy:
I assume it's OK if you double-click on the files? Which application do you use to open your images?

Yes, it still does it after re-booting, and it does it on most of the pictures, except for the first ones I ever downloaded. I'm wondering if one of the pics is corrupt, but it's finding which one it is. The sizes are all different, so that is difficult to say. I have had an IT expert in who is totally baffled, has taken off Photoshop and other programmes assuming they could be the problem, but to no avail. He now says I might have to clear my entire pc and start from scratch, but I have mislaid the original disk that came with my pc. I was just wondering if anyone knew how to fix it without having to go to the drastic measures of starting again? And, should I have to start again, would I be able to get another copy of the disk from PC World where i bought it from?

Brilliant news!... I've managed to sort it. It seems that it WAS due to a corrupt picture, being one I scanned, not downloaded. I'm not sure why though. Anyway, I deleted my 'unwanted' pics one by one, and it kept happening until I deleted a file with some scanned pics in (of my brother - so we'll blame him!) and hey presto... no more error reports! I'm so relieved.
Thanks for your help anyway.
