Any know much about this place? What are the locals like? Is it busy on a friday/saturday night. How would the place react to a weird music night put on there. Any other info?

Get in touch with Darren Mountain - the landlord of 'The Lord Nelson' (aka 'Fannys'). He owns it (or half of it) and if he's sold it on then he should be able to tell you who to ge in touch with.

I like the pub quite a bit and it does get busy. The room is long and thin which makes room slightly limited, except in the pool room side.

i used to go to caving club meetings in there. last time i went to the springfield the beer was awful and gave me an upset stomach the next day from only drinking two halves - same thing happened to my mate who was drinking the same.

that was early last year though so things may have changed

used to drink there often- a bit dull most of the time, a dj set would be awesome there- any developments?

Tis a Kimberley Ales hostelry, which is a refreshing change. It's a rather traditional boozer in an area surrounded by The West End (which used to be a smashing pub once) and Hanrahan's which frankly isn't a pub but a restaurant/bar.

Sheffield has lost too many pubs like the Springfield. Pay it a visit, enjoy it whilst it is there!

Does anyone know what happened to Graham and Claire the landlords from 2005 to earlier this year.
