I've just ended my memebership, the equipment is pretty oldish not the best around. I joined mainly for the swimming pool so I could go before work, which I did quite a few times. Apparently it's supposed to be getting a lot better as they are having a refurbishment in the near future. Though at the moment it's all a bit cramped with all th eequipment being in such a little space. If you work in town though as I do it's ideal , the thing I like about it unlike some gyms it's not snobby. You can go on the treadmills and it doesn't feel like the rest of the people there are Paula Radcliffes wannabe's.
The reason I quit was through no fault of the gym I haven't been getting my money's worth out of it recently through the summer as I've been going to work and back on my bike. If I went to the gym straight after work the place where my bike is would probably be closed by the time I'd finished at the gym. Plus sometimes after going to the gym I just can't be bothered to ride home.
I shall be joining again in the winter though, though maybe not Fitness Unlimited I was thinking about finding somewhere nearer home like the one at Manor Top.

I think its quite good value for money. Ive been a member for a month or so. I mainly use cv stuff so i use the studio gym which tends to be a bit quiter than the main gym thats near reception. Should be better when refurb is complete though i cant complain for £22.99 a month.

22.99 per month, there is a gym opening at my end of town that is only 25.00 for the year.

there putting the gym in the round house, and spending about £4,000,000 on it in total, all air con, all new machines!!

Sounds like theres some decent gyms outside the centre then.
I do like the new ones with new equipment, except for complicated weight machines!

I think its great value for money, and I go swimming most days and have never come across a time yet when its busy. Used the gym there as well and agree that it is good, if a little cramped! Have to say I prefer the gym at Don Valley which you also get as part of the package, but as I like the swimming so much at ponds forge I tend to just use the gym beforehand.

Only downside for me is having to pay for parking at ponds forge, which at 1.35 a time puts the 22.99 a month fee up a bit! but other than that well worth it and highly recommended.
