View Full Version : Are you going to boycott tomorrow
I've just been listening to radio sheff an the amount of so called owls saying they're boycotting the burnley game makes me sick. I'm not a big Allen fan mi sen but it's wednesday i support not the chairman or board ,an if that's the way these "fans" feel they might as well f**k off to brammall lane cos they're not true blue n whites .COME ON WEDNESDAY:rant:
if we didnt have season tickets we wouldnt go. therell be 17,000 there. this will proove that they sold very few season tickets this season because of the I.D. sceme. but they wont admit this.

I agree with you completely.
I'm going tomorrow. I go back to uni soon and this will be one of the last chances to cheer them on for a while.
Those owls fans are stupid. The team need support. Falling attendances is all we need right now!
Stockers 17-09-2007, 18:16 Splitters!!!
Are you happy with the goings on down at Hillsborough? Do you agree with Allen's dealings at the club? If not you've got to act and not turning up and supporting the board financially is one way to help.
I'm a Blade though so i might pop along and show my support for Allen and Laws!!

why is the id scheme such a problem . surely all it does is stop someone else useing it and if you bought it surely YOU want to use it.

unless your on hols or you work shifts on saturday i know of people who used to share the cost because they were on opposite shifts now its a problem for those fellas why should a seat be empty when you cant attend for whatever reason?

fair enough comment but your ticket sales are thousands down surely that problem cant affect as many as that.
by the way do the gatemen actually look at the photo that closely ?

it makes it more difficult to lend to someone if you cant go. whats the point anyway, when was the last time you saw rival fans fighting at hilsborough? any fighting these days is between stewards and fans who want to stand and sing.

season tickets are well down because of the ID scheme. the clubs hushing it up. thats probably why they have sold brunt and whelan. there are four of us and after the few home games gone only one of us has had our photo checked once. what a waste of time.
we were walking down to the ground one day past leppins lane and a steward asked if he could check our photos.of course i told him to **** off.:suspect:
Robbie Loving 17-09-2007, 20:20 season tickets are well down because of the ID scheme.
What do you have to back this claim up?
the crowd against bristol for starters 17,000. they must have brought a thousand? we sold 15,500 last season, i think. therefore it means if we'd sold the same as last year only 500 paid on the day.

No, the question was refering to the ID scheme. Not your **** attendances.
What do you have to back up the reason the fans are staying away because of the ID scheme?

because they sold a lot less season tickets. the way last season ended we should and would have sold more with what was expected. this is only rumour thats spreading but i havent heard an official quote from the club, i wouldnt believe them anyway!
there were loads of people on the radion and in the papers saying theyr wouldnt renew, think theymust have been serious. the club is driving fans away. its not even about whats happening on the pitch, thats the sad part.
if anybody knows for definate how many they sold it would quell the rumours?

ive seen that but madowl who used to work at hillsborough has a mate still there who said they have sold only 8500.
at the first home game well before the kick off we felt something was wrong. a bit cut back in steward numbers and prices rocketing at the outlets. i really wouldnt believe the club on this anyway. they wouldnt want to appear to have dropped another major gooly. like i said if this is true only say a thousand then, with your figures, paid to watch the bristol game, does that seem right?
the daft thing is my loyalty is with the club no matter what happens i will so go to home games.... i must admit though i did sell my PNE Ticket... too naffed off...
mikey10: ((((ive seen that but madowl who used to work at hillsborough has a mate still there who said they have sold only 8500)))) Yes i did work there and yes i was told that they had sold 8500... but dont forget at this moment in time the sales were held back due to the floods, lost or ruined forms etc etc, i did see the ticket office in Ruins, so i could understand that only 8500 would make sence... how many have been sold since??? whats is the number they say have been sold now??? lets just hope for the right results over the next few weeks and maybe that all this crap will soon laid to rest..... one thing id like to know though..... why still ony 17000 last time out? is it because the club have out priced the fans? who does or would pay £25+ for what we watch...?

you must remember times when we had a worst team than this? not often but we have. why did we sell more tickets in the first division than we're selling now? can only be season tickets cant it? we dont pack in that readily when it goes pear shaped. problem is now the board are ailienating har core fans. a bloke on radio toniht said he wasnt going because he doesnt want to give the club money to sue fellow fans.
we are in crisis od knows what the future holds. i think we'll lose tomorrow and on saturday and laws will be sacked.

yes we have season tickets x 4. if we didnt we may not go as a protest against the board. but that perhaps would be daft thinking about it. they are wearing our resolve away though. the performances on the pitch are not the reason we're disillutioned. its for the aformetioned reasons. dr evil has sorta started a them and us thing. he's out to get ya! okay he gets a lot of unjustified stick but he should rise above it, we're football fans and devoid of any sort of rational behaviour!!
sheffworker 17-09-2007, 22:00 i've been a fan for almost 40yrs. i've had a season ticket when i can afford it.
i can't go to all the games due to other commitments, but usually keep up to date with what's happening.
but i just can't be bothered this year. the club's attitude towards the fans who don't fall into exactly the line they want is what's put me off (and no, i'm not talking about hooligans, jut ordinary fans).
fans are customers. customers are important. M&S doesn't talk down to it's customers, or patronise them, or call them names. good companies don't.
mind you, the boss at ratners did - wonder what happened to THAT company?

think thats part of the problem they treat ordinary fans like hooligans.
We can only make midweek games , as we are st holders at Steelers. But we will be there tomorrow , and against Everton. I feel empathy for those who are having to defend themselves in court . But we will continue to support our team.

I'm a Blade, but to be honest, given your plight, turn up and stay outside the ground. Turn up, don't pay your money, and show how many of you are dissatisfied.
Even if you have got season tickets, do the same. I want you beneath us, obviously, but what is happening to your club is a disgrace in my eyes.
Throwing your money into Allen's coffers blindly could be a bad idea, even though you're in dire straits just now, and the side needs support.
It's a tough one though, because I remember the days of Division 4, and the Heath months, and then I thought nothing of watching the lads at the Lane, but things weren't as precarious, or even acrimonious as it is for you now. I'm still sure you'll be safe though.
That's my opinion, not that of this website, or even other readers of this website, and I would never demand that fans of another club should stop supporting their club because of any opinion I may or may not have about the way in which a club which I haven't mentioned is being run.
Bugger.
I said Allen.
See you in court, DA.

I agree mad'un. Your club will always be your club, but if you want to demonstrate against the board/chairman/dictator/emperor, do it outside the ground, and if you don't give him money, maybe change could happen more quickly.
Now I'd always of course say that any demonstration should be peaceful, and maybe a 'stop out' might be better on a Saturday when it's more noticeable.
Whatever, I still (grudgingly) wish you all well.

Stand up and be counted Wednesday.
You're not exactly doing that though are you.
Turn up to the game to get behind the team.
We (that's the fans and the players) need to get this boardroom business out of our heads and knuckle down and get some points on the board.
Boycotting the game will NOT do this, it will merely knock the players confidence down further.
sheffworker 19-09-2007, 11:51 Gerald Ratner said his goods were crap-yeah I see what you mean !

Jesus, don't do that if you're in about row 26 of the kop, somewhere level with around the edge penalty area or you're likely to be KO'ed by one of Sodje's attempts on goal.

People on the kop will be safe, its people in the park that need to watch out.
I had the photo in my season ticket scruitinised (and yes, I am an ugly *******, and I don't need anyone else to tell me that) by one of the Goons on gate duty at the entrance to the North Stand on Tuesday night, before my papers were finally declared "In Ordnung".
Shades of
"Welcome to Stalag Nord";
"For you, the war is over" !
Ninety minutes at Hillsborough on Tuesday night, was probably less exciting than nine months in Colditz. At least they put some decent plays on, whilst fellow inmates attempted to escape, although that Lafferty's amateur drmatics on Tuesday night would have taken some beating.

Boycotting the game because of Allen would also been completely pointless because Allen isn't the one who has made a complete cock-up of the season. Laws decided to sell McLean and Coughlan, not Allen. Allen may have had a hand in Brunt's sale but every fan knew that we'd snapped the hand off anyone offering a decent price for him.
Laws spent the pre-season chasing after strikers and losing out on them when we needed midfielders and defenders. Laws chooses the team, selects the tactics and trains the players. Certain sections of the crowd may not like Allen and Allen may not like them but that's has absolutely nothing to do with the results. The manager and players are responsible for those.
