Have just bought a new dvd home cinema system.
Have got -
a TV with 3 scarts
a sky box with 2 scarts
a dvd player with 1 scart
Please can someone tell me where all the cables go!
Can I just plug the dvd and sky into the back of the TV? Will the sound come out of the dvd speakers if I do this?
Have searched several sites for help but they're all a bit technical for me!
Thanks x

what dvd speakers? If you plug the scart leads into the back of the TV the sound will come from the TV. If you have seperate speakers for the DVD player what are they connected to? If they come straight out of the back of the DVD player then it must have and amp built in and some sort of processing if you have lots of speakers. Otherwise you would normally have a seperate amp for sound if you have seperate speakers.. If your DVD sound does not come out of thye TV you would usually have 2 phono leads conneced from the dvd audio out into one pair of the amp's audio in's. try to see what you speakers are connected to!!! more info required to help any more..

is the dvd just a player or does it record? No video in your setup?

dvd player - scart to tv
sky box scart to tv and other to video
tv scart in from sky box, dvd and video

if you have a ps2 or other video game machine then you may need a scart switcher

no mention is made of speakers or amps so assumption is that the sound will only come from the tv

i knew was bound to miss something :)

k in that case the speakers are attached the amp which in turn is connected to the audio outputs of the dvd player

dave Well that's now a video plus an amp you've included in the set up that aren't mentioned.

And if the DVD player records, the sky needs to plug into this rather than the TV.

Aren't they just so cool? We had the loan of one. The dog went berzerk(?)! We had to put the telly on too, and point to both pictures to get him to stop barking!

in a previous department i was sat around bored one day on the run up to christmas and atached a playstation to a video projector
shone the image onto the building opposite and fired up vrally, i cannt even begin to describe the feeling of playing vrally on a 50 foot telly :)

Sat around bored? On the run up to Christmas? Have you had redundancy notice? Is the shop about to close?

Sounds pretty cool though! Did you crash every time a bus got in the way?
