I was wondering if its possible to set up a standing order from a credit card to a bank account (obviously not my own!) to make payments?

Its is possible to do:confused:

Nah... You can't have standing orders from a credit card - it's a feature that exists on banking accounts only.

Not sure why you'd want to repeatedly borrow from a credit card anyway, the ecomonics of it are pretty poor given the apr.

If you need to borrow, I'd suggest a overdraft facility for the short term...

There is a means by which you can make regular subscription type payments form a CC to someone - but the recipient has to have a CC clearing facility.

If you REALLY wanted to do it, you might be able to manage it through Paypal, but it would be convoluted.

And takes WEEKS. Or so it seems, when I want to buy something on ebay!

Payment goes through pretty well immediately, but then takes a week to go from Paypal to your bank.

I have a couple of cients who pay me for web development work like this - it can drag on occasion!

yes you can - I used to pay my AOL monthly fee from my Visa and that was a standing order type of thing, set it up, and it came off every month.

that was them charging your card every month, that's different to a standing order where a specific amount is transferred by you every month.
